Highlights in the Meissen Porcelain Foundation Museum - 
Join us on a discovery tour through the production rooms of the manufactory. With the “Behind the Scenes Tour” you will experience live the artisan creation of porcelain. Our demonstration workshop also brings the world-famous Meissen porcelain to life in 14 languages! Learn about the production process at various workplaces and ask experienced manufactory workers what you always wanted to know.
Behind the scenes Tour
Our “Behind the Scenes Tour” enables you to experience porcelain being crafted by hand live in an authentic Manufactory setting. You will gain comprehensive insights in real manufacturing shops into production routines that include how kaolin is won from our own mine, how porcelain paste is made, how white porcelain is produced and how models and moulds are created and you will also be shown through our vintage Archive of Moulds, our porcelain painting shop and our kiln hall.

Exclusiv Tours
In the Demonstration Workshops, visitors can learn about the most important artisanal techniques that go into the creation of MEISSEN porcelain. The tour begins at the potter’s wheel and continues on to embossing all the way to under-and on-glaze painting. The knowledgeable and very experienced manufactory craftsmen are happy to answer questions about their work and the various production steps.

Exclusiv tours with a guide are offered with min. 20 and max. 30 people.

MEISSEN offers daily audio-guided tours throught the Demonstration Workshops.
The audio-guided tour through the Demonstration Workshops is also included in the entrance fee. You can always explore the Museum of the Meissen Porcelain Foundation on your own.
