Gain some captivating impressions by joining us on a tour of discovery through the Manufactory’s production sites that will allow you to experience the cultural asset that is Meissen porcelain in a particularly intense way.
Our “Behind the scenes Tour” enables you to experience porcelain being crafted by hand live in an authentic Manufactory setting. You will gain comprehensive insights in real manufacturing shops into production routines that include how kaolin is won from our own mine, how porcelain paste is made, how white porcelain is produced and how models and moulds are created and you will also be shown through our vintage Archive of Moulds, our porcelain painting shop and our kiln hall.
Together with a guide, you will witness Manufactory staff going about their momentous work, handle ingredients, find out what porcelain paste feels like and discover white gold with all your senses.
You will then have a chance to marvel at a fantastic selection of ceramic masterpieces from four different centuries in the Museum run by the Meissen Porcelain Foundation.
